"With that Notre Dame game on its schedule and its SEC slate schedule, Georgia will have a shot should it get through the season with only one loss and not win the SEC. Let's not forget that plenty of people wanted to put it in the playoff last season despite it being 11-2 with a 20-point loss on its resume."

"Let’s put it this way – if Georgia doesn’t at least 1) go 11-1 and 2) get to the SEC Championship again, it won’t be because of its schedule.
"Notre Dame is a big, giant, huge non-conference game, but that’s in Athens. Georgia Tech is going to be interesting and different at the end of the regular season, but going to Atlanta isn’t that big a deal for the Dawgs. The non-conference home games against Murray State and and Arkansas State have to be layups."

We also think there's a strong chance they'll have to do it with an 11-1 regular-season record despite a brutal November schedule that includes games against Florida, Kentucky, Auburn, Texas A&M, and Georgia Tech. That stretch, however, makes the SEC Championship game tough to call. The Bulldogs will need to run the table in the regular season to give itself some margin for error in Mercedes-Benz Stadium. If they enter with one loss, a win is a must if they play on making it to the College Football Playoff. Call us crazy, but we like UGA's chances of making the field of four one way or another."
