Not fake news after all. US President Donald Trump confirmed over the weekend that he indeed has discussed the possibility of buying the autonomous country of the Kingdom of Denmark. The Danes say it's not for sale.

But the oddsmakers at BetOnline think there is a chance.
Trump purchasing Greenland by Thanksgiving Weekend has the same odds as the Dallas Cowboys winning the Super Bowl in 2020 with a payout of $2500 on every $100 bet.
The US President even tweeted out a photoshopped picture of the Trump Tower standing in Greenland.

Bet Online is also offering odds on the OVER/UNDER price paid.
Trump's talk of buying Greenland is not without precedent. Two previous Presidents had pitched a similar idea.
The idea was first floated in the 1860s by then President Andrew Johnson. A report commissioned by the State Department concluded that the icebound island’s abundance of fish and mineral resources could make it a valuable investment.
In 1946, President Harry Truman’s administration offered to purchase Greenland from Denmark in exchange for $100 million in gold.
