That company has operated a sportsbook at the remote, but spectular, Greenbrier Casino for over a year now.  It's app will be avaiable via Android, not iPhone.

West Virginia's initial foray into online sports betting proved a disaster for one gambling operator.

Delaware North filed a civil suit back in April seeking monetary damages against United Kingdom-based Miomni Gaming and its CEO, Michael P. Venner.

Miomni’s contract dispute with a third-party technology supplier has prevented Delaware North’s Mardi Gras Casino in Nitro and the Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack from taking new sports wagers since March 6.  The partnership resulted in the brief launch of BetLucky.com.

The casino operator’s lawsuit says Miomni misrepresented its ownership of a key part of the sports betting platform.

Greenbrier President Jill Justice provided the quote for the press announcement:

“We are incredibly excited that this new app is available for download, and the timing couldn’t be better with football season and A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier right around the corner. We hope sports fans across the state will try out the app and then some visit the amazing FanDuel Sportsbook retail location here at America’s Resort.”

Gambling911.com rates West Virginia a "4" on a scale of 1 to 10 in terms of competitiveness.

Draftkings was expected to launch their app this week.

William Hill, Stars Group and PointsBet each have deals to operate in West Virginia courtesy of Penn National Gaming and Eldorado.

Offshore sportsbooks are widely accessible from the state.
