Free Week 6 NFL Picks 2009

Check out these free Week 6 NFL picks from Sports Interaction bookmaker, Frank Doyle.  He's a very impressive 11-3-1 so you can't afford to ignore these Week 6 NFL picks.

Anybody who cares about football has been licking his or her lips all week at the prospect of Sunday in New Orleans. The Giants, Saints and Vikings are the best teams in the NFC right now (with Atlanta and Philly bubbling along below the radar) and on Sunday the Giants and Saints do battle in the Superdome. It doesn't get better. It doesn't.

Sports Interaction has capped the Saints at -3 for home advantage, and the line is balancing quite well so far. The Saints have been explosive on offense, they defense is unrecognisable from what's gone before from the franchise, and Drew Brees is one of the premier, one of the very best, quarterbacks in the league.

But I think the New York Giants are the only play here. If you analyse the performances of the respective teams, it's easier to believe in the 5-0 Giants than in the 5-0 Saints. This could be a rubicon game for the Saints, but until there's a new king the old king still reigns. The Giants are the proven competitors, they have the rings to prove it, and you're getting them with the points. Giants +3 with Sports Interaction is the pick.

Elsewhere, I was surprised to see Tampa Bay as a home underdog. Tampa Bay isn't a good team, but of the undefeated teams, I like the Bucs best to break that streak. I like them this week at home with the points - Sports Interaction is handicapping the Buccaneers +3 against Carolina.

Carolina isn't a very good team either, so why the Panthers get to be road favorites against a divisional opponent I don't quite get. Maybe they turned the corner with a win over Washington but my goodness, Washington isn't too hot either. Tampa Bay's biggest problem is giving up the big play on defense but I don't see the Panthers slinging it unless they have to. I like the Bucs to ride the Cadillac to covering the number. Tampa Bay +3 with Sports Interaction is the pick.

Finally, while it's depressing to see the Raiders sunk as low as they are, it does offer a chance to make hay by betting against them. The Eagles are -14.5 point favorites at Oakland on Sunday, and I expect them to cover that number. But the sensible bettor always looks for the best value, so the tip this week is Philly -7.5 with Sports Interaction on the first half line. I expect the Eagles to follow the Giants' lead of zapping the Raiders early and often, and then bringing on the reserves to play out the second half. If the Raiders are still within a touchdown at half-time, something's gone wrong. Philly -7.5 in the first half against Oakland with Sports Interaction is the final bet of the week.
