Can I Place a Bet on the FanDuel App From Michigan

Great news for those who live in the state of Michigan.  That Governor just signed off on a bill that legalizes sports betting, including mobile, statewide.  Bad news: FanDuel will not be accepting customers from the state, at least in the short term.  Nonetheless, there are other fine sports betting websites serving the state.

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed Friday bills following months of reservation over the amount of tax that should be imposed.

With the governor's signature, Michigan became the second biggest state in the Midwest to legalize sports betting — behind Illinois — and the 20th state to do so in the nation, according to the American Gaming Association.

While restrictions are expected to be nominal, one will still need to place a bet with an out-of-state or offshore sportsbook if under the age of 21.

Benefits of Betting With BetOnline

Team Spotlight

Heading into Christmas 2019, the Michigan State Spartans had the 4th shortest odds to win the 2020 NCAA Men's College Basketball Tournament at 12/1 for a payout of $1200 on every $100 bet.  For live odds go here.

The Spartans fared extremely well last year Against The Spread, finishing the season 22-9.

The prior year, losing just three games, Michigan State went 20-10 ATS.

That trend appears to be continuing this year.

The three-point shots were finally starting to hit for MSU.

MLive.com noted:

Through the first 10 games of the season, the Spartans' 3-point shooting had been one of the team's biggest causes for concern. It had made just 31.3 percent of its 3-pointers and was on pace to be the worst 3-point shooting team of Izzo's 25-year tenure.

The departures of Matt McQuaid and Kenny Goins, plus the preseason injury to Joshua Langford were all felt acutely, with nobody stepping into to make up for that lost shooting.

Michigan State's offense remained one of the most efficient in the country through that stretch, thanks to a strong percentage on 2-point shots, strong offensive rebounding and limited turnovers.

“It’s a long season and you knew that we were due a game to play like this, where guys are making shots, guys are making plays,” Spartans point guard Cassius Winston said. “It was just fun because I’ve seen all the work that guys put in, you see all the tough times that guys go through, and to have a moment where they’re actually enjoying it, guys are making shots, making plays, things are falling for them.”
