Coronavirus Hasn't Affected Vegas Tourism....Yet....

There are no reports of major disruptions in Las Vegas though Southern Nevada tourism officials are watching the situation closely.

“We’re in contact with different agencies and with our hotel partners, and we’re ready,” said Misty Robinson, senior public health preparedness planner for the Southern Nevada Health District. “Since we’re a place that has a large visitor population, we’re lucky that we haven’t had any cases.”

Meanwhile, in Macau, only two casinos remain shuttered.  All casinos in the Chinese gambling hub were closed down for a series of days.

Macau has not confirmed a new COVID-19 case for 23 consecutive days.

Macau News reported:

Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng ordered the temporary closure of the city’s casinos and other entertainment venues on February 4 when the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases had risen from 8 to 10. Macau’s 41 casinos and non-gaming entertainment venues closed on February 5. The local government announced on February 17 that the city’s casinos could open for business from February 20.
