Khabib Opens as -350 Favorite to Beat Justin Gaethje

UFC 249 is finally in the books following a series of changes and postponements primarily brought on by Covid-19.

It mostly lived up to expectations and offered some shocking storylines along the way.

Forget that underdog Justin Gaethje battered the favorite Tony Ferguson.  Henry Cejudo shocked everyone by announcing his retirement from the UFC after his win over Dominick Cruz.

And now it is time to look ahead towards Gaethje facing off against Khabib Nurmagomedov, the later of whom opened as a -350 favorite at BetOnline.

Gaethje battered Ferguson in every round, with Ferguson withstanding a wicked beating. By the end, both of Ferguson's eyes were swollen and he had a huge cut on his right cheek.

Gaethje landed a hard left hand in the fifth that wobbled Ferguson, and referee Herb Dean stepped in to wave it off.

BetOnline confirmed the UFC 249 card as a whole (not the headliner fight) was the single most wagered on in the company's 21 year history.
