Poker World Reacts to US Civil Unrest
It's the worst civil unrest in the US since 1968.
On May 25, 2020, the death of an African-American man, George Floyd, in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States while handcuffed and lying face down on a city street during an arrest has resulted in protests nationwide, some of which have turned violent.
One of the more outspoken poker players, Daniel Negreanu, was left nearly speechless. Hard for him.
"I don't even know what to say," he tweeted.
I don’t even know what to say.

I’ve crafted four tweets on what is happening in America right now but ultimately realized any tweet I post on the issue will fill my timeline with anger and hatred.
It feels pointless to try.
People are dug in.
Jason Mercier tweeted:
"The people of our country want justice... But what we really need is Jesus"
Noah Schwartz tweeted:
"Because ppl are tearing it down .. it isn’t even about George Floyd anymore it’s much deeper then that . Very disheartening to witness . They ripped Miami to shreds yesterday."
Mike "The Mouth" Matusow continued his ardent defense of US President Donald Trump while taking a back handed swipe at him.
"I'm not angry your tweets make no sense it's not trumps fault theres pandemic not his fault they had to shut down greatest economy ever it's not his fault 4 dumb ass cops killed a man . It's his fault hes terrible leader that's all"

Celebrity poker player James Wood offered his take.
This night of savage anarchy is why the Second Amendment and regulated social media are so important. With one we defend our lives, and with the other we defend the truth. When Jack Dorsey rules our infomation and George Soros rules our streets, we are doomed. #TakeAmericaBack pic.twitter.com/zYxAmozsAp

Kara Scott tweeted "America has a racism problem. The world has a racism problem".
Look, what I’m saying isn’t edgy or dangerous (for me) and it’s not radical at all.

America has a racism problem. The world has a racism problem.
Antiblackness is a killer and it’s not on black people to fix it. So, let’s do the work. And let’s listen.
