The players balked at the league's latest 72-game season at 80 percent prorated pay that was submitted on Friday.
MLBPA Executive director Tony Clark issued a statement saying "it appears further dialogue with the league would be futile".
The MLBPA announced Saturday that the "players want to play" and asked where they should report.
