2020 World Series Odds
The Diamondbacks will pay out $6000 for every $100 bet to win the 2020 World Series.
Could Thrive in a 60-Game Structure
Diamondbacks pitcher Mike Leake has opted out of the abbreviated MLB season.
The team’s big move was signing lefthander Madison Bumgarner to a five-year, $85 million contract. At 30, Bumgarner is on the backside of his career after 11 seasons with the Giants, but he fills out a rotation with no glaring weak spot, with Weaver, righty Zac Gallen and lefty Robbie Ray potentially combining for 600 strikeouts. All those arms won’t be enough to topple the Dodgers in the NL West, but they will keep Arizona in the thick of a crowded wild-card race. — Joe Sheehan, SI.com
This D-Backs lineup is as deep as they come with this powerhouse lineup and utility guys behind them like Josh Rojas, Idlemaro Vargas, and Tim Locastro. We also have guys coming up from the minors that can all make impacts on this team in 2020 such as Wyatt Mathisen, Andy Young, Kevin Cron, and the always intriguing Yasmany Tomas as the Triple-A options they have as well as the Double-A guys that are highly-touted prospects such as Daulton Varsho, Pavin Smith, Drew Ellis, and Seth Beer.
Any and all of these guys can come up this year and make a serious impact. All of them can hit for average and power, and in the case of a guy like Varsho, we may even see him make the big leap to the big leagues with the backup catcher’s position available to be overtaken. I’m definitely excited to see this entire D-Backs lineup and (hopefully at some point) all of these prospects get up to the Majors. - Sean Basile, FanSided
