Sports Gambling Demand to See Boost in July

July is traditionally the slowest month of the year for sports betting.  That should not be the case in July 2020 as sportsbook and gamblers alike rev up for the start of Major League Baseball, NBA and what should prove to be an exciting Major League Soccer Tournament in Orlando.

Last March, sports betting ground to a halt as the coronavirus pandemic spread. Sports leagues abruptly shut down their games. It was not until May, when we started to see sports events return slowly. The UFC, NASCAR, and some golf and tennis events slowly resumed operations. June was even better, as we saw more events, especially as European soccer was back as well.

While much of the focus will be on MLB and NBA as well as some high profile UFC bouts, MLS will offer an exciting slate of games that should see soccer gain in popularity in the US this summer.

Major League Soccer returns on July 8 with tournament play similar to that of March Madness.  A Round of 16 series begins July 28 culminating with the Finals August 11.
