Next Game Early Considerations: OVER/LOSS
Betting Watch (Ahead of August 16)
Lance McCullers Jr. followed up a disastrous performance with a solid seven inning no-hitter. Prior to that one he endured two sloppy games (vs. the Diamondbacks and Angels). Games he has started in have resulted in 9 or more runs so far this season.
Starting for the Seattle Mariners is Justus Sheffield, who was dominant in his last game but the oddsmakers have him as the +215 dog.
Gambling911.com anticipates a loose game with both starters coming off solid performeances in a series that is prone towards having a lot of runs scored of late.
August 16 (facing the Giants)
After a terrible road trip, Lance McCullers Jr. gave the Houston Astros just what they needed to get back on track Monday night.
McCullers pitched no-hit ball into the seventh inning, Michael Brantley and Carlos Correa drove in two runs each and the Astros snapped a five-game skid with a 6-4 win over the San Francisco Giants.
This one went over the total of 9.
Each of his last four starts have seen nine or more runs scored. His previous start versus the Diamondbacks was a disaster.
August 10 (facing the Giants)
McCullers Jr. will be looking to regroup Monday after lasting just 3 2/3 innings Wednesday versus the Diamondbacks. He pitched well his first three innings but got destroyed in the 3rd with eight runs scored.
Prior to this game, McCullers Jr. gave up four runs and walked four in four innings against the Angels but allowed just two runs in six innings with six strikeouts in a 7-2 victory over the Mariners. McCullers really struggled with his command to start in that game.
Each of his three starts have seen nine or more runs scored.
It was not yet determined who the Giants were starting this game.
Houston swept the Giants the last time these teams faced one another with only one of four seeing more than five runs scored.
Seven of ten Giants games recently have seen double digit runs scored. Only four of Houston's have done so with two more games seeing nine runs scored.
