Here is something that Democrats and Republicans should all agree on: The sitting US President, Donald Trump, is not going to win in Oregon. The books have former US Vice President and Democratic candidate Joe Biden at -1300 odds to win here.
Those living here will likely want to place bet on competitive swing states the likes of Florida, North Carolina, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, New Hampshire, Maine, Wisconsin, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arizona, even Texas.
And of course, there is the ultimate winner of the Electoral College, a much more competitive race. On average, following the Conventions, Trump and Biden were each around -115 to win.
The Philadelphia Inquirer's Jonathan Tamari and Julia Terruso write that Trump is looking to push the "violence in America’s cities" as the ultimate means to help him beat Biden in states like Pennsylvania. Nowhere, perhaps, is this more better illustrated than in cities like Portland, Oregon.

“Every city where there were major riots and problems that continued was run by Democrats,” A retired Harrisburg prosecutor, Valerie Barbin, told that paper. A registered Republican, she once voted for former President Barack Obama, but now plans to vote for Trump again. “Normally when people break the law and they injure people and they loot and they commit arson, people get arrested for that, but in all those cities, they weren’t arresting people.”
From the Inquirer:
Trailing in national and battleground state polls, including in Pennsylvania, Trump is aiming to change the trajectory of the race by focusing on the crime and violence that have followed some protests against police brutality and racism.
With this in mind, there are plenty of competitive state races like Pennsylvania (Trump is at +165 here) for Oregonians to place bets on.
