Wife of 5Dimes Deceased Owner No Longer Has Time for Sportsbook

The wife of 5Dimes murdered owner no longer felt the staff could run the business the same way her late husband could and opted for a shutdown of the behemoth US-facing sportsbook September 21.  The company will not be entering the US regulated market and it is doubtful 5Dimes will continue to service the rest of the global market.

"They were just buying time since Tony was killed," our source tells Gambling911.com.  "She could no longer trust the employees that are there to run the business like her husband did."

Our source also relayed that "Tony knew how to process Amazon gift cards and the people there now have no idea how to handle the payment processing."

Sean "Tony" Creighton was kidnapped in September 2018 after assailants ran his Land Rover off a San Jose, Costa Rica road.  His body was discovered in a ditch one year later.  Around a dozen suspects tied to the case have been rounded up.

Creighton's wife is a well off Costa Rican who was already wealthy prior to their marriage.

"She doesn't need the money," another of our sources tells us.  "And she doesn't want that headache," the source added, referring to 5Dimes.

Affiliates of 5Dimes are already resigned to the idea that they will not be paid while future bets may not be honored.  Some are owed six figure amounts.  Customers, on the other hand, could still be paid their balances, including winnings.

Some players have reported receipt of large payouts since the company announced its anticipated closure.
