What We Are Betting This Weekend
Every weekend is a chance for bettors to win a lot of money. It's never too early to start preparing for the weekend betting slate.
This weekend, football is off leading up to Super Bowl week. Therefore, the NFL is temporarily out of the wagering equation unless you want to throw down an early wager.
With that in mind, I'm focusing on the NBA, NHL, and NCAA basketball. Odds aren't up yet, but there are a few games that I already have my eyes on (season records are through Tuesday action).
NBA
On Saturday, I'll be watching the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics compete. This is the biggest game of Saturday's NBA slate.
The Lakers are 14-4, and the Celtics are 10-6. The most interesting storyline coming into this game is Los Angeles' road record.
The Lakers haven't lost a road game all season long. They're 10-0 as visitors entering a Wednesday night game with Philadelphia. LeBron James and Anthony Davis are expected to play this weekend, but they're listed as day-to-day on the injury report.
On Sunday, I'll be wagering the Utah Jazz at the Denver Nuggets. The Jazz are 13-4, and the Nuggets are 10-7.
This should be a tightly contested battle. However, I like the Jazz on the road. Denver hasn't played well at home all season long.
NHL
In the NHL, I'll be testing my luck on the Islanders and Flyers in Philadelphia on Saturday night. The Islanders are 3-3 but have a 1-3 road record.
The Flyers are 4-2 and have played well at home. I think this will make them a heavy moneyline favorite, but Islanders at +1.5 at online sportsbooks should be considered.
On Sunday night, I'm all-in on the St. Louis Blues on the road against the Anaheim Ducks. The Blues with positive odds could yield a huge payout against a weaker Ducks team.
However, the Blues will need to play better defense. The Blues rely on offense to win, which isn't sustainable every night.

NCAA Basketball
The Saturday men's basketball slate is massive. I'll be concentrating on two games this Saturday.
No. 15 Kansas will travel to Tennessee to take on the 18th-ranked Volunteers. I think Kansas could be a good pick ATS. Tennessee should be favored at home, but I think Kansas is better.
Kansas will need to limit John Fulkerson for Tennessee. If the Jayhawks can eliminate Fulkerson from the equation, I think they'll cover.
They may possibly win outright, but they'll need to be strong down low all night long.
Florida will play No. 11 West Virginia as well on Saturday. I like West Virginia, but Florida has tremendous upside as an unranked team.
The Gators should be a heavy dog, but they're 7-5 ATS this season. Florida routed then-No. 6 Tennessee 75-49 on Jan. 19.
I have to wait to see what the spread is when the lines come out for this contest. However, I have a feeling that Florida could be very good to bettors this weekend.
West Virginia has been tested more than Florida thus far, but this could be a trap game at home.
