Can I Bet Sports on the Fox Bet App From the State of Illinois?

It was not immediately clear if or when Fox Bet might launch its mobile app in the great state of Illinois.  Until such time, offshore sportsbook sites like BetUS, in business since 1994 and offering a generous welcome bonus (max $2500), remain viable options as they have long been accessible within the state.

Illinois had only licensed four sports betting companies as of Super Bowl 2021 following a sluggish start:

BetRivers

DraftKings Sportsbook

FanDuel Sportsbook

PointsBet

William Hill

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Governor Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker temporarily lifted the requirement to register on-site.  This allowed those in the state to register their betting accounts online or via their mobile devices.

The latest temporary order ran through February 6, the day before Super Bowl Sunday.  It was likely to be extended further.

BetUS and similiar sites are always available for remote registration to those 18 and up.  BetUS does not report winnings to the IRS or other agencies whereas state-licensed sportsbooks are required to do so.
