Texas Dolly Goes Off on Romney for Impeachment Vote: 'Can't Believe I Supported Him'
87-year-old Doyle Brunson voiced his discontent with Utah Senator Mitt Romney voting to impeach the former US President, Donald Trump. Some of Brunson's followers believed the poker great was also comparing Trump to Jesus, though that appears to be a misinterpretation of his tweet (we think).
"I can't believe I supported this guy when he ran for POTS. Judas!", the long time Republican tweeted Sunday, likely meaning to write "POTUS".
Brunson has been critical of Trump at times throughout his tenure as President, it should be noted.
"I am off the Trump bandwagon," he tweeted in March of 2018. Brunson cited Trump's signing of a $1.3 trillion (with a "t") omnibus spending bill at the time. "He completely caved."
Romney was one of seven Republicans who voted to convict Trump for incitement in the attack on the US Capitol January 6.

"Do you think DJT is innocent and a good person to have in a position of power?" one of Brunson's followers asked.
Brunson responded later in the day "No".

Another tweeted:
“We will March to the Capitol!”

Trump wants you to think he is this strong masculine he-man, but when the chips fall you can find him back the the Trump hotel watching the action from afar. President Bone Spurs.
It only got worse.
Comparing Trump to Jesus???? Wtf Doyle? That is the most delusional shit I’ve ever heard. Wait... I forgot Jesus was a multi divorced cheater who had sex with a porn star and paid her to keep it quiet, hated anyone that doesn’t kiss his ass, incited an insurrection, etc.

Hi Doyle, are you supportive of Trump encouraging his supporters to overthrow the capital and murder political leaders?
— Lyft Ride Convos (@convos_ride) February 14, 2021
Yeah, how dare he not support an armed insurrection, an attempt to hang the Vice-President, and an attempt to overthrow the government.

While an overwhelming number of Brunson's followers found his tweet repulsive, Doyle did have one or two supporters.
"He’s just jealous a non politician got things done in office. He’s bitter after he had his chance and screwed it up?," one tweeted in reference to Romney.
Another tweeted: "You're the man, Doyle".
The Texas Dolly did get the last laugh though.
I love setting my followers off with political tweets. You should try it when you get bored. You guys are SO SO easy.
