FanDuel Opens Two Retail Sportsbooks: Illinois and New Jersey

FanDuel this week has opened two new retail sportsbooks, one in New Jersey, another in Illinois.

The Illinois retail sportsbook is hoping to attract those from the St. Louis metropolitan area.

It will open in what was formerly Fairmount Park.

FanDuel has also opened a permanent sportsbook at Bally’s in Atlantic City. They had been operating a temporary operation on the property since December.

The opening of these two new retail sportsbooks brings the FanDuel total up to 16 throughout the United States.

Illinois already ranks number 4 in the nation in terms of overall sports wagering handle after New Jersey, Nevada and Pennsylvania.

In December 2020, New Jersey posted a total sports betting handle of $996.3 million.
