The Red Raiders defeated Utah State 65-53.

Mac McClung scored 16 points in his first career NCAA Tournament game and Kyler Edwards added 12.  The Red Raiders snapped a two-game losing streak.  They also forced 22 Utah State turnovers in a dominant defensive effort.

Texas Tech (18-10) can reach its third consecutive Sweet 16 with a win over third-seeded Arkansas on Sunday.  Should they go on to win the NCAA Tournament Championship, the payout would be $2500 on a $100 bet.

Justin Smith had 29 points and 13 rebounds, and No. 10 Arkansas shut down high-scoring Colgate to open the NCAA Tournament with an 85-68 win on Friday.

"We knew we were going to unleash it," Arkansas coach Eric Musselman said. "I didn't know if it was going to be in the second half or in the first half, when it might be. We talked about playing Justin at the 5 — we didn't say much to the team about it — and thought it could really speed things up."

Arkansas is an impressive 23-6 on the season and offer a payout of $3500 on a $100 bet with an NCAA Tournament Championship.
