Top 5 Poker Podcasts You Should Definitely Add to Your Playlist
In recent years, podcasts have become a hit and you can find them for any niche. Poker is no exception and there are regular podcasts that provide valuable content. Whether it is about strategy, news, or anything else, you can learn a lot and have fun listening to them at the same time. There are a lot of different poker podcasts on the market, so we decided to choose a few that we like the most, which you can watch/listen to and maybe add to your playlist. Of course, that if you are a passionate gambler or mere aficionado of this game.
Note that poker is not the only world-famous game of chance with useful podcasts. For example, there are podcasts for slot games for which there are numerous platforms offering benefits for both new and old players, such as sign up free spins at TopCasinoExpert.com.
Poker Life
As the name suggests, the Poker Life podcast mainly focuses on the poker player’s lifestyle and all aspects of it. Joey Ingram, who is a poker player himself, hosts this show and often calls some of the most famous names in the world of poker to a visit where he then talks to them about various topics.
Other podcasts can hardly be compared to the guest list that Joey brings to his show. Players like Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Doug Polk, and Fedor Holz are just some of the guests who came to his podcast. Ingram interviewed most poker stars at one point and much more could be expected in the near future.
However, there is no set schedule, so you will find a new episode whenever Joey manages to get someone to join. To be honest, he succeeds often enough in that, and, no matter what, it is worth following his YouTube channel where conversations are streamed and go live.
The Rake
The Rake is a poker podcast from Run It Once, the coaching website of Phil Galfond. It is hosted by Jamie Kerstetter and Marle Cordeiro, and this show informs about all the poker rumors and news you may have missed, doing so in a humorous way.
New episodes come out every week and cover everything from scandals to the Galfond Challenge (a series of high-stakes head-to-head matches between him and his various challengers). Do not expect a hardcore strategy on how to play GTO in this podcast, but expect to have a good time. And, if you prefer to watch than listen, be sure to check out The Rake Podcast playlist on YouTube as well.
S4Y Vlogcast
The following selection is the only one we cannot find on podcast services like iTunes or Spotify, and it only comes in video format. However, since it is made in the form of a conversation, you can listen to it in the background so we think that it still belongs on this list.
The hosts of the S4Y Vlogcast are Matt Berkey, a longtime high stakes player in cash games, and his former student and today business partner Christian Soto. S4Y is constructed in a similar fashion as The Rake – as a product of a coaching platform run by the aforementioned guys.
The podcast focuses on relevant topics that are happening in the world of poker but you will also hear some strategic conversations and new developments on the poker scene in Las Vegas because the hosts are based there and they also play live games there.
DAT Poker Podcast
The DAT Poker Podcast is a three-host show featuring the aforementioned Daniel Negreanu, Adam Schwartz, and Terrence Chan (the show’s title consists of the first letter of each of their names). Each week, the three discuss recent poker news, industry opinions, and get into strategic content. There is also an occasional interview of poker pros to make the rotation interesting.
One of our favorite parts of the show (although there are not many of them yet) are voicemail questions where ordinary players call, leave their question this way, and the hosts answer those questions on the go. Logically, episodes like this offer a multitude of questions, answers, and great out-of-the-box dynamics. Watch episode #58 as a great example of what we are talking about.
Poker Central
The Poker Central podcast is produced by PokerGO, a poker content streaming service that brings back shows like Poker After Dark and others.
The show is hosted by Remko Rinkema and Brent Hanks. They are both poker journalists so they are very much in touch with the poker scene, all the tournaments that take place, and all the other related events.
