Draftkings has acquired VSiN (Vegas Sports Information Network) in an effort to boost its own media profile and drive content.

What The Deal Does

  • From Yahoo Sports: "Buying VSiN will help DraftKings in two main ways: First, DraftKings acquires most of its customers through media buys, and the VSiN team is better suited to create content that can grow the DraftKings user base. Second, it will help DraftKings fill programming slots for its media partners, such as regional sports networks, which will help in the negotiation of future deals."
  • “This is a big jump-start for our content capabilities,” said Matt Kalish, the president of DraftKings, North America.
  • The intention is to have VSiN connect in the 14 states where sports betting is currently legal, though Draftkings does not have access to all US states.
  • VSiN was founded by Brian Musburger, son of noted sports personality Brent Musburger, who also appears on the network former NFL executive Michael Lombardi. Its content appears in many places, both in video and audio form. VSiN, most notably, has articles that appear daily in The Post.
  • It was not immediately known how much Draftkings paid for VSiN.
