Kentucky Files Motion in Online Gambling Case as Last Resort

Seen as a "desperation move" of sorts, the Commonwealth of Kentucky has filed a Motion for Leave to Join Additional Parties and to Amend their Complaint.  Kentucky is now claiming that, because there are Americans running some of the 141 online gambling companies the Commonwealth is looking to seize, and as such are no longer considered to be "outside the said jurisdiction".

The Commonwealth's continuing investigation yielded the identities of certain individuals and now Kentucky is asking to amend the complaint as to name said operators.

It is not believed that the Commonwealth itself has launched any criminal investigation since the Attorney General had asked to be removed as a plaintiff in the domain seizure case.  Sources close to Gambling911.com suggest that individuals named in a California investigation may be added to the Commonwealth's complaint.

Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear brought the matter to the Courts in October 2008, asking that the 141 domain names in question be seized as they were supposedly siphoning customers from Kentucky's lucrative horse racing business.
