The Arizona Cardinals 2008 odds to win the NFC West have been set at +300. A telling sign that the odds makers at SBG Global do not believe the Cardinals will be better than a .500 team is that they have made the UNDER 8 regular season wins the -120 favorite.
As an FYI, the Cardinals odds of winning the 2009 Super Bowl were at +2700 for a payout potential of $2700 on every $100 bet.
Head coach Ken Whisenhunt, now going into his second season as head coach of the Cardinals, seems to have his squad headed in the right direction and ready to challenge the Seattle Seahawks for the division crown. A lot depends, however, on whether Leinart can take the next step into becoming a legitimate franchise quarterback. If he does, Arizona should be able to keep up with just about any team on the scoreboard. Defensively we should see some improvement this year as well, and I believe that will finally put this team over the hump and into the playoffs.
His prediction: 10-6 and first in the NFC West.
That, we believe, is way too optimistic, especially with the quarterback picture still questionable. In fact, Gambling911.com questions whether the Cardinals can even top their 8-8 season last year.
This is a bad division that will likely be dominated by the Seattle Seahawks.
