In a much publicized case over this past week, Team Cardrunners poker pro Brian Townsend admitted to using hand histories for hands he didn't play himself and, in the process, beating online poker phenom Isildur1 out of some $4 million.  Full Tilt Poker responded on Monday by suspending Townsend's  "red pro" status for one month.  Some have suggested that Isildur1 should be refunded back the $4 million lost as a result of the policy violation.

Fellow Team Cardrunners poker pro Brian Hastings had discussed the subject of reviewing hand histories in an ESPN.com interview last week, helping to further draw attention to this incident.  But Townsend insists that only he, and not Hastings or other Team Cardrunners players, used past hand histories to beat Isildur1 out of his $4 million.

"I analyzed the database I put together, and the three of us chatted about my analysis, and optimal strategy against Isildur. According to Full Tilt's T&C this is a permissible discussion as it's super common for players at all stakes to discuss strategy and certain players tendencies. Any discussion we had occurred away from the table when we were not playing a session."

Hastings has previously had his "red pro" status suspended by Full Tilt Poker for six months after he was found playing under two different accounts.
