Kolesnikov is a Russian swimmer. He holds world junior records in eight events: 50/100/200 back in long course, as well as 200 free, 50/100/200 back and 100 IM in short course.

Murphy is an American competitive swimmer who specializes in backstroke and is a 3-time Olympic gold medalist.  He is the world-record holder in the men's 100-meter backstroke. At the 2016 Summer Olympics, Murphy swept the backstroke races by winning gold medals in both the 100- and 200-meter backstroke and he won gold in the 4×100-meter medley relay alongside Michael Phelps, Nathan Adrian, and Cody Miller.  Another achievement at the 2016 Olympics, Murphy's backstroke relay lap broke Aaron Peirsol's former world record set in 2009.
