Police Officer Rescues Baby Left in Hot Car as Man Gambles in Casino, Bodycam Footage Reveals (Video)

A Las Vegas man was arrested after he left a child inside a hot car while gambling at a North Las Vegas casino.

Mitchel Hooks, 39, the child's caretaker, was arrested on Friday, July 16, after police say he left a 1-year-old child inside a parked car at the Big Horn Casino near east Lake Mead Boulevard and Belmont Street.  He is facing charges of child abuse and leaving an unattended child in a vehicle.

Two weeks after the incident, new body-worn camera footage shows the rescue of a baby from inside a hot car.
