Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Redskins odds opened at Dallas -4 as the away favorite and the line has since moved to -7 everywhere including Hollywood Sportsbook.

What may not seem like the most important game of the week is very important to the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys look to move closer to a playoff berth and try to stay in the mix for the NFC East title Sunday night when they visit a Redskins team in disarray.

Against New York on Monday night, Washington appeared completely disinterested at times and had one of its worst home losses ever in front of a national audience. Another performance like that against the rival Cowboys could seal the fate of many current players with a new regime taking over.

The Cowboys cannot afford to look past the Redskins as they host a red hot division leading Philadelphia Eagles next week in what could be one of the most exciting games of the final week of the 2009/2010 regular NFL season.

Despite opening December with back-to-back losses that dropped them from the top of the division, the Cowboys can win the East by defeating the Redskins (4-10) and first-place Philadelphia in their finale.

While Dallas has won the last two showdowns against Washington, they did so by fewer points than the current spread of -7.  In fact, none of the past 6 games played in this series were won by Dallas Against The Spread using the current line and the Cowboys have only done so once in the past nine games against Washington.

Some important Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Redskins odds trends to consider before betting on this game include:

The Cowboys are 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games after allowing more than 250 yards passing in their previous game.

The Cowboys are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games as a favorite.

Perhaps the most dreaded stat of all involves the Cowboys being 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 games in December.

They are also 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games as a road favorite.

The Redskins are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a S.U. loss.

The Redskins are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall.

Washington is 3-10 ATS in their last 13 home games.

This game goes off Sunday night.
