What is the Spread on the Jaguars-Texans Week 1 Game?

The new look Jacksonville Jaguars come into Houston for a division matchup against the home underdog Texans.  The underdog is 12-5 Against The Spread in their last 17 meetings though it should be noted that the road team has gone 13-6-1 ATS in their last 20 meetings.

The line hasn't moved much on this game since May with the spread now Houston +3, up a half point.  Books that opened an early line had Houston as low as +1.5.

Tyrod Taylor Starting QB for Texans

Just days before this matchup was set to take place, Houston confirmed that veteran quarterback Tyrod Taylor would be starting against Jacksonville.

The line had not moved on the news, however, it was widely anticipated.

Quarterback Deshaun Watson is also on the Texans' 53-man roster but is expected to be a healthy scratch on game days for Houston.  Watson has been an off-the-field nightmare for the Texans as he faces sexual assault charges.

Rookie Davis Mills, a third-round pick, will be Taylor's backup.

Taylor, 32, signed a one-year contract with the Texans in March after spending two seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers.

The 10-year veteran has made 47 starts in his career. He has passed for 9,770 yards with 54 touchdowns and 20 interceptions and rushed for 1,850 yards and 16 touchdowns in 72 games overall.
