The Buffalo Bills are hovering just under a touchdown favorite hosting a Steelers team that was the last undefeated last season before completely imploding.   Make no mistake about it, Pittsburgh will have plenty of backers.  As of Thursday, no book had crossed the dreaded 7, though a few have moved to that number.

One of the major distractions surrounding the Steelers leading up to Sunday's game has been the drama involving T.J. Watt's status.  The team confirmed it has entered into a lucrative contract extention with Watt Thursday evening.

A person with knowledge of the agreement says the team and the two-time All-Pro have come to terms on a four-year extension worth $112 million that will make Watt the highest-paid defensive player in the league. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the financial terms were not publicly announced.

The deal was first reported by NFL Network.

Whether that's enough to make Pittsburgh a serious Playoffs contender remains to be seen.  Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is nearing the end of his career.

They should still be competitive and it helps that Baltimore will be stumbling into the 2021 season with some key injuries.  RB Gus Edwards, CB Marcus Peters have torn ACLs.
