At +20000, odds makers believe that the Kansas City Chiefs along with the Miami Dolphins will be the two worst teams in the NFL. The payout would be $20,000 on a $100 bet; $2000 on a $10 bet and $200 on a $1 bet at Super Book.

Even in the AFC West, the Chiefs would provide an $1800 payout for every $100 bet.

How many games do odds makers believe the Chiefs will end up winning?

The regular season wins total for 2008 odds have been set at 5 ½. The line is -115 on both the OVER and UNDER 5 ½ total wins during the regular 2008 NFL season.

The Chiefs went 4-12 last season and there are question marks on most of the major positions including quarterback.

Losing defensive end Jared Allen may have made things a whole lot worse, though he was traded for a bunch of draft picks (12 total and some of which are quite good) that helped to make the team much younger.

Of course NEW can also mean SURPRISES....just don't count on it. The idea that there is plenty of fresh talent could still offer a glimmer of hope for the Chiefs to defy odds, especially when we are talking about this very weak division (exception being the Chargers).

NFL betting used to be built mostly around teams. Bettors looked at spreads, totals, moneylines, injuries, weather and coaching matchups. Those pieces are still there, but the modern football betting board is much more player-driven than it used to be.
