Evers is the #10 quarterback prospect in the country. He was the second highest rated prospect committed to Florida; Gators currently have the SEC’s #14 recruiting class.

Evers had committed to the Gators staff back in March.

Evers also posted the news on social media.

"I'm so thankful to Coach Mullen and Coach McGee, who gave me the opportunity to attend UF," Evers wrote on Twitter. "Additionally, I want to thank Coach Napier for allowing me to be a small part of his vision.

"Mostly I would like to thank Gator Nation. You have welcomed us and my heart will forever belong to this special place. Florida deserves greatness and I wish nothing but blessings to you all.

"Hoping to find my new path quickly. My recruitment is now open."
