The $291.2 million in September was the best debut among the six states that launched sports wagering in 2021.

Arizona edged out Nevada for the highest handle of any state in the first month of operations since the rest of the US states were permitted to begin offering sports betting.

The hold of 10.9% ranked 10th among the 23 states offering sports gambling.

Arizona also benefitted from a strong showing by the Cardinals in the NFL.
