Poker Pro Doug Polk and Wife Launch "Organic" Self Tanner That Doesn't Turn You Orange

For just $49 you can the newly launched self-tanning cream from poker pro Doug Polk.  It's called Naru and claims to be completely organic.

Conventional self tanners use dyes, synthetic fragrances, and toxic chemicals like parabens that damage your skin. Naru’s self tanner is made with clean, skin-conscious ingredients that give you a luminous, bronzed glow.

Development has taken over a year-and-a-half, according to Polk.  The venture is between he and his wife.

"This product came into existence not to make a business, but out of necessity," Polk revealed via his Twitter account.  "My wife, Kaitlin, is very health conscious and does her best to make sure everything we use is made with safe, healthy ingredients. She ran into a serious issue when it came to sunless tanners."

"The products on the market are simply...horrible," he added.  "They all have a ton of chemicals you can't pronounce, smell absolutely abysmal, and/or are quite orange and streaky. So, she set out to see if she can make her own.

"I can confidently say that final product is so much better than the many, many, many self tanners I've seen over the years."

And Polk has just gotten a big endorsement from the one and only Daniel Negreanu, whose own wife swears by the product.

"Confirmed. My wife has tried every product out there and she loves this one. Not streaky, doesn’t have that self tanner stink, and solid list of ingredients."

Twitter being Twitter, some of Polk's followers were not exactly impressed.

"It doesn't look like you use it!," user PB_2021 suggested to the pale Polk.

"Hopefully this is more successful than the tea business was for Brian Hastings," another follower wrote.

Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) acts as the main substance in self-tanning lotions, and is a safe browning agent approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and included in Polk's product.
