Australian Open 2010 Odds Published

The first Grand Slam Tennis Tournament of the year begins next week at Melbourne Park.
And World No. 1 Roger Federer, who was upset by Rafael Nadal in last year's Australian Open men's championship final, is again the favorite on the men's side, at +220. He would pay out US$220 for every US$100 bet.
Nadal is at +350 to repeat with a potential payout of $350 on every $100 bet, followed by Andy Murray and Juan Martin Del Potro, the latter having won the 2009 U.S. Open in September, both at +450.
Nadal, whose win last year was his sixth Major title, will be trying to regain his No. 1 world ranking, which again belongs to Federer.
Nadal, the first Spaniard to win the Aussie Open, became just the 12th player to win three Grand Slam titles on three different surfaces since the Open Era began.
Novak Djokovic, who won the Australian Open two years ago, is at +550.
On the women's side, defending Australian Open champ Serena Williams is favored to repeat at +250 odds. Sister Venus is way back at +700, and the payout there would be fantastic - US$700 for every US$100 bet.
In between the Williams' sisters are Kim Clijsters, not far back of Serena at +275, and Justine Henin, at +400.
Williams won her 10th Grand Slam title and fourth Australian Open title with a victory over Dinara Safina. The Californian beat the Russian No.1 in straight sets, 6-0 6-3.
The Australian Open is the first of the four annual Grand Slam tournaments. It was first held in 1905 and has been played on hard courts since 1988, after having been contested on grass from its inception until 1987.
