Miami Heat Second Team to Ban Gambling

Looks like the Miami Heat has its own Agent Zero - as in zero tolerance for gambling on team flights.

In the wake of the Washington Wizards Gilbert Arenas' gun and gambling fiasco, Heat president Pat Riley has decided it best to leave the cards at home while the team is away.

The Miami Herald  reported during the team's road trip to California, the Heat banned gambling on the flight. The New Jersey Nets took a similar stance last week.

The Heat have lost two of the three games so maybe Riley should run out and buy a deck of cards quick. Not that this is relevant, but the Nets have the worst team in basketball, so maybe gambling on flights is not such a bad thing.

At .500, the Heat players could probably find some better things to do with their time like figuring out a way to stop point guards from penetrating the defense like an alien probe. Maybe players could start betting on who will score more than 10 points outside of Dwyane Wade. We'd take the under on that one pretty much every time.

Texas Hold'em poker appears to be the game of choice on most flights, according to team captain Udonis Haslem.

Maybe Riley will lighten up after a five or six game winning streak. That could be motivation for a team that always seems to lack it this season.

But don't bet on it.
