In light of the ongoing crisis in the Ukraine, online gambling operators seem undecided as to whether they will be offering betting odds on US President Joe Biden's first State of the Union address.

"Typically these are up about a week prior to the SOTU," remarked Gambling911.com's Payton O'Brien.

But gambling sites often shy away from any betting event tied to death and despair.

While there will certainly be some positive points raised during this year's SOTU such as the nomination of the first female black Surpreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, much of the focus will likely be on the invasion of the Ukraine.

"These websites do not want to come across as insensitive," O'Brien said.

Sites like BetOnline and Bovada often see high betting demand with these types of political wagering events.

SOTU betting is not entirely off the table for Tuesday.  Should a site like BetOnline opt to offer betting on the SOTU, they will probably stick to more subtle props such as the how long will the State of the Union address be and Biden's suit color.

One of the more popular bet options is the OVER/UNDER number of applause and/or standing ovation breaks.
