Russian iGamers May Not Be Welcome at ICE

One of the biggest i-Gaming conferences returns this April as ICE is set to take place in London from the 12th through 14th.  But representatives from one country might not be welcome.

Gambling911.com has been observing a private group where the question was raised as to how many Russian-based online gambling companies would be participating.

Russian's unprovoked invasion of Ukraine has the whole world in an uproar.  It should also be noted that the Ukraine plays a pivotal role in the i-Gaming sector.

We won't identify those participating in the conversation due to the private nature of this group, but here is the question that was asked followed by the reactions:

Question: How many Russian companies exhibiting at ICE?

One member posted:

"The common folk always suffer at the end I’m sure most of them oppose the war , it’s their leaders who are to blame."

But another was not so forgiving.

"Hope they will not participate any more for a long time."

That led to a heated exchange.

"To say you hope our colleagues wont participate in events for a long time more, just on the basis of their passport, irrelevant of their own personal views or efforts which you would know absolutely nothing about, is plainly wrong. You should reconsider your views."

The original commenter explained that they had many Russian friends but that she felt strongly with her stance.

Others were quick to respond that most countries were preventing flights originating from Russia at this point.

What we missed, however, is that a number of prior comments had apparently been deleted.
