In an unprecedented move Wednesday morning, Clarion Gaming announced it will be prohibiting Russian and Belarusian state entities from participating in any of its upcoming gaming conferences. These include the marquee ICE conference in London April 12-14. Gambling911.com had speculated in the past 24 hours this ban could take place.
Russian's unprovoked invasion of Ukraine has the whole world in an uproar. It should also be noted that the Ukraine plays a pivotal role in the i-Gaming sector.
Alex Pratt confirmed the ban.
Due to the current tragedy unfolding in Ukraine, we have taken the decision to suspend Russian and Belarusian state entities, companies, and their representatives from participating within Clarion Gaming’s events and digital products including the forthcoming 2022 edition of ICE and iGB Affiliate in London.
Our thoughts continue to be with all those being affected by the ongoing conflict.
On Monday, the NHL suspended deals with Moscow-based gambling company Liga Stavok, which signed a three-year deal in November to become the league’s first exclusive sports betting parter in Russia. NHL games will also stop streaming on Yandex, the Russian internet giant that first partnered with the league in 2019.
