EuroSportBet was supposed to be the answer to European online gambling giants Bwin and Unibet.  The company's future is now in question, however, following a take over of management.

eGaming Review Magazine is reporting that the parent company of EuroSportBet, Bouygues, has now taken full control of managing SPS Betting, the online gambling firm operating the ESB site.

Eurosportbet, which obtained an Alderney licence in June 2009, was set up by the former chief executive of French commercial TV giant TF1, Patrick Le Lay.

Disagreements between Le Lay and Nonce Paolini, his successor at TF1, which is part of the Bouygues conglomerate, are understood to have been behind the move, according to EGR.

The betting firm was anticipating a major move into the French market over the coming months.
