It seemed like just yesterday that we here at Gambling911.com were talking about how Danish poker pro Gus Hansen was about to throw in the towel after blowing millions last year playing poker.  In fact it was just yesterday, a mere couple of weeks ago to be exact.

That last about.....well.....five minutes!

Hansen is now up $1.3 million during the first few weeks of 2010.

He only has a cool $4 million more to break even.  At the current pace, this could happen come April.

PokerStars.com, the world's largest online poker site, has announced a new daily freeroll tournament for UK and Ireland players where they will be adding £2,000 to the prize pool each day.

The new £2,000 giveaway tournament will run for six weeks, starting on
January 22, 2010. The daily freeroll tournament will take place at 9.30pm
GMT every evening and players will be able to re-buy for $50c. If players
miss the 9.30pm tournament then they can always take advantage of another freeroll for £250 at 10.30pm.

Emma Crowe, Regional Marketing Director for PokerStars comments: "The cold, dark nights of January and February are traditionally the most
popular months of the year for online poker play. We feel that the new
daily freeroll will appeal to a wide range of poker players. By adding
£2,000 to the prize pool everyday for six weeks PokerStars are once again showing their commitment to rewarding players who use the world's largest poker site."

The announcement comes soon after PokerStars announced the launch of the new UK and Ireland Poker Tour which began in Galway in December 2009 and makes its way across the Irish Sea to Manchester on February 11th - 14th.
