Bettors Backing Bivol in Rematch With Canelo

The Kentucky Derby wasn’t the only sporting event that produced an upset over the weekend.

Dmitry Bivol, not nearly as large of an underdog as the Derby horse, handed boxing champion Canelo Alvarez the second loss of his illustrious career.

SportsBetting.ag has already released odds on the rematch. The dog has flipped to favorite, and early bettors have pushed the betting line even higher after Bivol opened with -165 odds (Alvarez +135).

“Doesn’t matter which one, first or second, doesn’t matter to me — I just wanted this fight,” the undefeated Bivol said of the ring entrance. “Doesn’t matter which sound he has, which sound I have, how he went in. ... And when he was going to the ting, and I heard the crowd, I really enjoyed how the crowd was yelling.”

For Alvarez (57-2-2, 39 KOs) it was only his second career loss. Alvarez’s only other loss was to Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2013.

Both fighters were non-committal about a rematch during their post-fight press conferences, saying they would need to see what’s next for both of them.

Fight Odds

Canelo Alvarez +160

Dmitry Bivol -200
