Long Time Bitcoin Association Founder and President Jimmy Nguyen Moving On - One of the world's biggest Bitcoin and blockchain advocates, Jimmy Nguyen, announced on Wednesday that he will be leaving his post as President in September.

"I remain a big believer in BSV and the visition for a massively scaled bitcoin protocol to make the world better," Nguyen said.  "That will not change and I will continue to be one of BSV's biggest advocates."

Nguyen says he has been regularly presented with new business opportunities he's finding more difficult to turn down.

Nguyen is one of the more charismatic speakers on the conference circuit. He has regularly hosted CoinGeek BSV related events and panels.

Binance Attempts to Clarify What Caused Earlier Bitcoin Withdrawal Issues - The crypto exchange said Monday morning it was halting crypto withdrawals but later clarified the situation was just temporary and related to a glitch, more specifically pertaining to repairs it was doing to address small hardware failures.

The company issued a statement that it was “repairing several minor hardware failures on wallet consolidation nodes earlier today, which caused the earlier transactions that were pending to be broadcast to the network after the nodes were repaired.”

Binance added that “these pending consolidation transactions had a low gas fee, which resulted in the later withdrawal transactions – which were pointing to the pending consolidation UTXO - getting stuck and not able to be processed successfully.”

The company added that it needed to “change the logic to only take successful UTXO from consolidation transactions or successful withdrawal transactions. This fix will also prevent the same issue from happening again.”

Another crypto exchange froze withdrawals over the weekend.  Celsius announced Sunday night it would pause withdrawals, citing "extreme market conditions."

The price of Bitcoin crashed to $22600, down from just over $27000.  This represented a 15.7% drop over a 24 hour period.  The price was having a tough time recovering during the evening hours.

PayPal Mounts Crypto Offensive After New York Grants a Full License - Users will be able to transfer select coins with other wallets, exchanges as part of the arrangement.

“This is really about access and utility, said Jose Fernandez da Ponte, senior vice-president and general manager for PayPal’s blockchain, crypto and digital currencies business. “We are greatly enhancing the utility of moving crypto around.”

The company also said the New York Department of Financial Services granted PayPal a “BitLicense, which governs businesses working with virtual currencies,” according to a statement on the firm’s website Tuesday.

PayPal is pivoting away from a strategy of simply trying to add millions of new users and instead is seeking to encourage existing customers to use its app more frequently.

Landmark Coin Recovery Settlement Set to Usher in a New Era for Digital Assets - Tulip Trading Limited (TTL) and Bitcoin Association have reached a settlement in Dr. Craig Wright’s landmark suit arguing that blockchain developers owe fiduciary and tortious duties toward their users which compel the developers to act in cases of lost or stolen coins.

The settlement will ensure that the Bitcoin Association can go through with the process of developing software that would allow miners to freeze coins, something that was halted while awaiting a valid court order.  The ruling provides a clear path for holders of digital assets (and other blockchain users) to enforce their legal property rights, such as in cases where digital assets have been stolen or wallet keys lost.

The suit arose from a hack on Dr. Wright’s home network in 2020 which saw the keys to a colossal amount of Bitcoin stolen from him. Dr. Wright filed suit against a number of blockchains and their developers including those associated with the BTC and BCH blockchains.

Microsoft’s New Xbox TV App Streams Games Without a Console Later This Month - Samsung’s 2022 smart TVs will be the first to get the Xbox app.  This is definitely a game changer in the world of gaming (literally).  It will function similarly to how Netflix is used via television sets.

Ultimate subscribers will be able to access more than 100 games through Samsung’s 2022 smart TVs, streaming through the cloud powered by custom Xbox Series X hardware. Fortnite is even available to stream free of charge if you’re not a Game Pass Ultimate subscriber.  It will work by simply connecting a supported controller via Bluetooth.

Microsoft isn’t bumping up its streaming resolution to 4K, so games will be limited to 1080p streaming at 60fps.

Proposed Bipartisan US Crypto Bill Could Be ‘Sigh of Relief’ for the Industry - A proposed crypto bill, sponsored by U.S. Senators Cynthia Lummis, Republican of Wyoming, and Kirsten Gillibrand, Democrat of New York, aims to install guide rails around the digital asset space. The 69-page, bipartisan bill is comprehensive and addresses many corners of the crypto markets.

Among the components of this bill: Allowing for no tax declaration for transactions under $200, defining guidelines for differentiating cryptocurrencies as commodities or securities, and granting the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission exclusive spot market jurisdiction over cryptocurrencies defined as commodities.

Also the measure looks to backing stablecoins with a 1:1 monetary currency, moving toward “100% reserve, asset type and detailed disclosure requirements for all payment stablecoin issuers.”

The bill would also place theU.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and CFTC in charge of monitoring the digital asset industry.

Get That ‘First Bitcoin Experience’ With BitcoinSV.com’s Live Demos - Jon Southurst of CoinGeek reports that The Bitcoin Association recently added live demo apps to the BitcoinSV.com website for new users to try for themselves.

The Association promises that users will get a taste for how simple it is to create tokens on, and add simple data to, the BSV blockchain. More importantly, demo users will discover how affordable and efficient it is, he adds.

It’s almost too easy—but that’s the elegance of BSV. Anyone can write any kind of data to the blockchain, and in any volume. That data is timestamped, immutable, and therefore auditable forever. Whether it’s an artist creating NFT art collections, games recording item ownership and player moves, governments or academic institutions keeping records, or concert organizers creating tickets with benefit tiers, BSV can handle all of it.

Japan's Huobi Exchange Set to List Trading Platform - Huobi Japan will be listing BSV on its trading platform in a few weeks’ time. The Japanese subsidiary of the global digital currency exchange made the announcement last week. This will make BSV available at one of the biggest digital asset markets in the world.

Huobi Japan will list BSV from mid-June, it said in an accompanying blog post.

"As soon as the handling start date and details of the handling service are decided, we will announce it again on our site etc."

Don't Loose Time and Reduce Your Smart Contract Fees by 99.99% - ETH Smart contracts, NFTs and Tokens are easily transpiled into BSV script in just a few steps.

Art Industry: Art enRoll Goes on Chain to Solve Provenance, Authentication Issues - Michal Leszczynski, founder of ITSEC R&D, addressed the audience on Day 2 of the Dubai Global Blockchain Conference, explaining the Art enRoll application, their future plans, as well as the significance of BSV enterprise blockchain in operating their business. The application has been developed on chain with the help of integration by UNISOT, which provided APIs to Art enRoll to interact with the BSV blockchain and support network. The app focuses on recurring and lingering challenges related to the Art industry.

Leszczynski highlighted the problems relevant to this industry, such as provenance, transfer of artworks between galleries, tracking of orders, and transportation issues.

“Galleries often lend art pieces to other galleries for exhibits, etc., and they struggle to track those orders, as it becomes nearly impossible for them to determine their location due to a lack of system in place,” Leszczynski said.
