Getting Ready for the 2022 Belmont Stakes

The 2022 Belmont Stakes is upon us. And we’re here to get you ready for it.

Key Points

– Kentucky Derby winner Rich Strike will run the 2022 Belmont Stakes after skipping the Preakness.

– Bettors can get track odds for the 2022 Belmont Stakes despite not betting at the track.

Getting Ready for the 2022 Belmont Stakes The third and final leg of the 2022 Triple Crown of Horse Racing will take place at Belmont Park on June 11. The 2022 Belmont Stakes will not produce a Triple Crown winner though Kentucky Derby winner Rich Strike is in the field.

Whether it’s thinking about a Belmont Jewel, the track’s signature drink, or betting the race; here’s how you should be getting ready for the 2022 Belmont Stakes.

Rich Strike Is Back

As mentioned, there will not be a Triple Crown winner. Kentucky Derby champion Rich Strike did not run the Preakness Stakes, which was won by Early Voting.

Early Voting will not run at Belmont. Trainer Chad Brown made the decision to pull out of the race in late May.

One of the more interesting horses at Belmont is Epicenter, who finished second in both the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness. The colt will have a chance to become just the second horse ever to finish second in all three Triple Crown races.

In 1978, Alydar finished second to Triple Crown winner Affirmed in all three races.

The Favorites

The favorite at +250 to win the 2022 Belmont is Mo Donegal, the fifth-place finisher in the Kentucky Derby. Mo Donegal won the recent Wood Memorial beating Preakness winner Early Voting.

We The People just won the Peter Pan Stakes held at Belmont Park. That win moved the horse right behind Mo Donegal on the board at +350.

Five weeks ago, Rich Strike made history winning at Churchill Downs as a +8000 longshot. Rich Strike was the second biggest longshot in Kentucky Derby history. He is among the top contenders at Belmont given +500 odds.

Also given better than +1000 odds are Creative Minister (+600) and Nest (+800). Creative Minister finished third at the Preakness and won its two races previous to that. Nest has four total wins and a second place finish in its last race, the Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks at Churchill Downs.

Get Track Odds For the 2022 Belmont Stakes

When you bet the 2022 Belmont Stakes at America’s Bookie, you get track odds. Remember, horse racing is different from other sports in terms of how odds are determined.

In horse racing, the odds on each horse are calculated by the proportion of total money wagered on each horse at the track. The favorite is the horse with the most money wagered on him to win.

All bets made at our sportsbook do not add to the track pool and do not influence the odds on a horse. These track odds are then used to calculate and settle your final bets.

Betting At The Belmont

Belmont is the longest of the three 2022 Triple Crown races, but it does favor speed. Over the past decade, the top finishers in the race were running either first or second after the first half mile.

Bettors should note that in the first two Triple Crown races this year the favorites lost. Zandon lost the Kentucky Derby and Epicenter lost at the Preakness after being favored to win. Ironically, both horses finished second.
