Trump Won't Launch 2024 Presidential Campaign This Year Oddsmakers Believe
Oddsmakers have former US President Donald Trump favored NOT to officially launch a 2024 Presidential campaign this year (2022). The payout would be $15 for every $10 bet if he does.
BetOnline featured the odds one day after the January 6 Committee held its first primetime hearings on the riot that occurred at the U.S. Capitol on that date.
The House panel investigating the Jan. 6 insurrection laid the blame firmly on Trump, insisting it was not spontaneous but an “attempted coup” and part of Trump's effort to overturn the 2020 election. The hearings featured never-before-seen 12-minute video of extremist groups leading the deadly siege as well as testimony from Trump’s most inner circle.
“Jan. 6 was the culmination of an attempted coup, a brazen attempt, as one rioter put it shortly after Jan. 6, to overthrow the government,” Rep. Benny Thompson said. “The violence was no accident.”
Opinions about the first of six primetime hearings were mostly mixed.
In order for the bet to be official, Trump must file a Statement of Candidacy with the F.E.C. before December 31, 2022.
