Ben Wallace has gone from a 10-1 underdog to a 3-1 favorite in the odds to replace Boris Johnson as the next Conservative Party leader.

BetOnline released updated odds following the resignation of Johnson Thursday afternoon.

Wallace is now the odds-on favorite, followed by Rishi Sunk and Penny Mordaunt. Below you will find current odds and accompanying comments from our oddsmaker.

The previous favorite to become the next UK Prime Minister was Tom Tugendhat at 6-1 odds,

As far as the next UK General Election, the numbers suggest it to be a tossup at this point.

"As it stands, former Chancellor of the Exchequer Sunak fares best with the general betting public, in part due to the goodwill generated from delivering furlough payments during the pandemic. He'll run a slick campaign and carry support from various power brokers," BetOnline.ag political analyst Paul Krishnamurty said. "Whilst 'Dishy Rishi' has a strong chance of reaching the final-two - therefore going forward to a head-to-head run-off with the party members - I'm skeptical he'll clear the final hurdle.

"Penny Mordaunt has the perfect profile to beat anyone in that scenario. A young, strong woman, who served in the Navy, who kept her distance from the now discredited Johnson. She's very fluent in the media and, as a strong Brexit supporter, holds positions that chime with both Conservative colleagues and grassroots. Mordaunt has been networking and building a campaign quietly for months, away from the limelight. Compared to her rivals, beleaguered after months of scandal, she looks to be the right fresh face to lead a new start."
