Heat Map Shows Negative Sentiment Toward Kevin Durant Amid Trade Talks

According to our social media study that combed through nearly 500,000 tweets, Massachusetts and the surrounding states that support the Celtics do not want Kevin Durant in Boston.

BetOnline ran the analysis over the last 21 days, using geotagged Twitter data to see which states had the highest number of negative posts written about Durant.

For example, tweets with "Kevin Durant,” “KD” or “Durant" that also contained a negative keyword or phrase such as "don't want,” “horrible trade,” “crybaby,” “soft,” “keep Jaylen,” “too old” and so on were analyzed in the query.

Below are the percentages of Durant tweets that were negative, by state, during the last three weeks. It's very clear that New England does not want Durant, especially if it means trading Jaylen Brown.

Additionally, the latest Durant odds at BetOnline still have the Celtics favored. Here those are:

Phoenix Suns              +350

Toronto Raptors         +400
