Cake Poker Eats Away at Microgaming Network

It was a tight race for the coveted number 9 position among all online poker networks as the powerful Cake Poker network was a mere 100 real cash players behind Microgaming.  That is saying a lot considering that Microgaming has under its banner Ladbrokes - England's largest sportsbook - and Unibet among others.  Cake still serves the US market.  Microgaming pulled out several months ago.

Microgaming, a South African company with headquarters in the Isle of Man, has come under some amount of scrutiny for its attempts at chasing away winning poker players.  The company has said it will no longer allow data mining on its online poker network.  More costly to the company perhaps is that a few of its skins have gone out of business while one of its online casinos, Bella Vegas, continues to screw over affiliate partners.

At one time Microgaming held the number 6 spot of online poker networks.

Cake Poker has been hovering around the number 10 spot for several weeks now.  More importantly, however, is that Cake Poker has gained by 52 percent over the past year.  Only Full Tilt Poker has enjoyed stronger growth over that period (a 76 percent increase)

The Cake Poker Network's marquee brand is Doyles Room, a proud Gambling911.com sponsor.
