Prop Bets on the North Texas vs. UTEP Game - 2022 Week 0
North Texas vs. UTEP game and player prop bets are available from BetOnline.
North Texas has a loaded offense entering 2022. Eight starters return and there will be help from the transfer portal.
The quarterbacks have some solid receiving corps to throw to, but the quarterback position itself remained open heading into the new season.
Austin Aune was expected to start on Saturday against UTEP. He beat out Memphis transfer Grant Gunnell for the job.
The North Texas linebackers could prove to be quite good this season. Senior linebacker KD Davis has opted to remain at North Texas. Last year he made his first appearance on the All-C-USA First Team.
"Really excited about this group — the things they’ve done in the offseason to prepare and continue to build our culture [and] our leadership, the way they’ve worked has been awesome to watch,” head coach Seth Littrell said. “This is always a fun time of the year getting back and around the guys.”
“It’s going to be a good year — I’m excited to see where our offense is at,” sophomore tight end Jake Roberts said. “I like where the Mean Green are. We’re going to be in a good spot.”
UTEP earned a bowl bid last season and the program's first winning record since 2014.
The Miners return 71% of their production from last season but their deep threat Jacob Cowing is off to Arizona.
That being said, College Football News notes:
"The running backs are deep and good, three all-stars return on the O line, and Gavin Hardison is a veteran quarterback who’ll keep pushing the ball deep – the UNT secondary is a bit of a question mark – even without Cowing.
"The linebacking corps is great, Praise Amaewhule is one of the best pass rushers in the conference, and the secondary got a whole bunch of help from the transfer portal."
