The Scott Frost Farewell Tour? This is How Bad Hawaii is Going to be in 2022
You can actually still bet on whether Nebraska Cornhuskers Scott Frost is the first to go this season in the Big Ten.
Following the 31-28 loss to Northwestern in Dublin, Ireland, someone joked that they should confiscate the Husker's head coach passport.
Frost ordered an onside kick and it didn't work. Now, he’s really on the hot seat with Week 1 not even here yet.
“You’ve got to win in this business to keep your job,” said Frost, who is in his fifth year at the helm and coaching at team that has now lost seven straight stretching into last season. “That’s the way it is. I love the state of Nebraska. I love these fans that sacrificed to come over here. We’ve got to get this turned around.”
Ryan Hilinski threw for 314 yards and two touchdowns to help Northwestern rally to a victory in the season opener before 42,699 fans at Aviva Stadium in the Irish capital.
Frost accepted full responsibility for the botched call.
“I made that call so that’s on me,” Frost said of the decision after the Huskers took a 28-17 lead. "At that point in the game, I thought all the momentum was on our side. I thought if we got it, we could end the game.
“You can’t really foresee them scoring 14 straight and us sputtering after we played well to start the second half on offense. Again those are excuses. If I had (to do) it over, I wouldn’t make the call.”
Nebraska was favored to win OVER 7.5 regular season games this season, so if you have the UNDER, early congrats maybe.

Hawaii Long Season Ahead
Using last year's power ratings, we had Hawaii as the -12 point favorite. These ratings were adjusted a week prior to Gametime and now Vanderbilt was a -9.5 favorite.
Oddsmakers had already made their own calculations, shifting the number heavily in the Commodores favor. The line had even moved up three points once the new power ratings were released by Sagarin.
And just how bad was Hawaii expected to be this season?
Dave Mason of BetOnline pointed out that Vanderbilt is only listed as winning no more than 2.5 regular season in 2022!

Vanderbilt favored by 9.5 tomorrow in the middle of the Pacific even though their season win total just 2.5.
57% of the $ is on Under 2.5 wins, while 67% of the cash is on Vandy minus the points.
Meanwhile, 91% of the $ on Hawaii Under 4.5 wins
Vandy beat the Warriors 63-10 in front of a sold out crowd in Hawaii.
Hawaii endured a mass exodus of players from last season courtesy of abuse allegations.
Legendary quarterback Timmy Chang was brought in to save the day, and he's managed to assemble a decent enough number of talented players to make things interesting. But there was no way these players would have time to gel this early in the season.
Vanderbilt managed to score 35 points in the third quarter and looked like the College Football Playoffs champions at that point.
"Obviously pleased with the result tonight. Feels like we have a team that came out and handled some early adversity and I thought we really played well as a team," the Commodores second-year coach Clark Lea. said. "I thought we really battled back and the pain that we went through a year ago and having early setbacks there was a different feel on the field."
