Ravens-Jets Sick Lopsided Betting Action on Baltimore: Starting QB to be Determined Wednesday
Here we are in Midweek and the Ravens continue to get nearly all the betting action on the spread in New York against the Jets. 92% of the spread bets were coming in on Baltimore.
Baltimore has been a steady -7 favorite across the board since early August. None of the books had moved the line above the 7 since that time. Only a handful had even flirted with the -7.5 prior.
BettingPros Phil Wood thinks there might be more value betting on the total here.
"The Ravens opened as 4.5-point favorites, but the number has swelled to -7 since Zach Wilson’s injury. This number should continue to move in favor of Baltimore since they have been known to beat up on bad teams since Lamar Jackson took over as quarterback. However, the most interesting thing to note is that the total has barely moved. It opened at 45 and is now at 44.5. Look for this number to drop as the week progresses."
QB Joe Flacco could assume the role of starting quarterback with Wilson out. If that's the case, he'll be facing his old team, the same team he led to a Super Bowl.
Another amazing feat may be on the line.
Flacco could become one of just three active quarterbacks in the NFL to have defeated at least 31 of the 32 NFL franchises. Besides the Ravens, Flacco is yet to beat Seattle.
The Jets will announce their Week 1 starting quarterback on Wednesday with Zach Wilson still nursing a knee injury, and it remains to see if this news will move the line any.
